 It was a morning of August 2004, I came across a girl of about 16 years old,  loitering in the Howrah Rail station \hich\f1 \endash \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 
 the entry gateway rail terminus of Kolkata city. Having been curious of her activities, I inquired about her whereabouts. She was dumb at my sudden instance, but broke into tears few minutes later after my cross questioning.  It was a pathetic story I ha
\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 d\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1  to hear from her.

\par \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 
She hailed from Howrah, a suburban place of Kolkata where she lived in a village. Her parents married him with a man who was on employment in Mumbai, thousands of miles away. The man went to his work place after marriage and came back a
\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 
fter few months having the germs of deadly disease AIDS. He was treated a bit but did not survive. As he passed way, the in-laws of this girl ousted her from home. They even blamed her that her husband contracted the disease from her. She did not have any
\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 w\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 
here to go. Even her parents refused to accept her as a wife of AIDS victim. They suspected her to have contracted the disease from her late husband and she could be fatal to other family members. She was left with no answer for where she should go.  Havi

\par \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 After having heard the story of the girl, I thought a moment. I realized in my mind that I was actively working for the uplift of the wo\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 men\hich\f1 \rquote \loch\f1 
s interest, for protection of the young women. Why could  not I start doing for \hich\f1 \endash \loch\f1  to start with \hich\f1 \endash \loch\f1 
 one young girl. There started the story. I took her along, arranged for her shelter. Since then, she is under the direct supervision of mine in particula\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 r\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 \hich\f1 
 and United Nations Initiative and Technology for the Youth (UNITY) in general. She is being treated regularly and cheered. She is encouraged for vocational training to earn for her livelihood. Ultimately she started learning the value of \'93\loch\f1 
\hich\f1 Quality Life\'94\loch\f1 . \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 T\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 
oday, she feels that so long she lives, she should enjoy quality life. She is the inspiration of the AIDS victims. She attends the AIDS camps conducted by UNITY and is an inspiration to all. To, our organization, it is a great satisfaction, that we could 
\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 d\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 o for one.

\par \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 But is that all? Can we not do for more number of girls and women? Here are the pictures of the real life scenario in West Bengal in India.

\par \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 The are thousands of people working in far sited metropolitan towns. Their wives live in the village. T\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 
hese workmen visit their house once a year or so. During their single lifestyle without wife at distant place, they go for sexual contact without any protection,  to fulfill their biological need and as a result,  many of them contracts AIDS. As they visi
\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 t\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1  back their house and meet their wives, the females too contracted the disease and like this, the furious disease spreads in multitude, casing menace in the society.

\par \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 Another fearsome incident is refusal of married wife their recognition in the in-laws ho\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 
me. Often the parents of the groom demand for high amount as dowry for the marriage of the girls. In the event, the parents of the girls are not able to meet the demand of the parents of the grooms, the females are tortured and beaten. They are often driv
\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 e\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 n out of home and the boys are remarried.

\par \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 This leads the girls to search for their livelihood and ultimately they find their place in gutter where there is a high risk of contracting AIDS and other sexual diseases.

\par \hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 We, the people living in comfort,  sh\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 
ould do something. Can we not think about doing something for these helpless females. Yes, we at UNITY thrive to forge ahead all barriers to move forward for the well being of these females. But our mere  action will not work for millions of people. More 
\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 n\hich\af1\dbch\af13\loch\f1 umber of people should come forward for this noble cause.
