Nets for Life (NfL) is a community based malaria control development programme in Nigeria. Nets for Life is a community based malaria control programme that incorporates malaria education, targeted distribution of treated bed nets and ongoing monitoring. Nets for Life is funded by Christian Aid (CA), a UK based International NGO and Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) a church based agency in the United States. The programme in Edo State will be implemented and managed by ADDS through a consortium of 4 other NGOs in Edo State with ADDS as lead partner in Edo State. Job Title: NfL Programme Officer Ref: NfL/PO Task Description: To provide training, technical and financial support to implementation of NfL in the areas of malaria education, targeted distribution of treated bed nets and ongoing monitoring. Main purpose of job: The successful post-holder will have previous experience of community based health interventions, will have good experience of working with and supporting local organizations in Nigeria and will be used to reporting and capable of effective financial management. Key programme elements include the training of community members as malaria education agents, and the distribution of Long-Lasting Insecticide Nets (LLINs). The Program Officer will work with a portfolio of 4 other partner programme in Edo State to deliver NfL. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that NfL partners support the achievement of overall program objectives and reporting requirements to both CA and ERD. This will require the provision of technical support to partners that covers, technical issues relating to community based malaria control work (principally education, environmental sanitation, personal hygiene and LLIN distribution), program management (e.g. monitoring and evaluation, financial management etc) and institutional issues such as resource mobilization. The post holders will also technically support the partners to liaise with other stakeholders and will promote lesson learning and dissemination. Position in organization: Reporting to ADDS Program Manager with a working relationship NfL Programme Officer and other ADDS Partners on the NfL programme Qualifications/Experience: Degree in related field (e.g. public health, development studies, geography, social studies etc) and a least 3 years experience in monitoring, reporting and evaluation of donor funded programs Training qualifications Significant experience of community based malaria control work in Nigeria, including malaria education and nets distribution Demonstrable experience in supporting local organizations and Experience of basic financial management and reporting Coordination, networking and facilitation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Numerate, with experience of budgeting and financial reporting Computer literate (MS Word, Excel and computerized accounting systems) Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, Good interpersonal skills, highly motivated and flexible Experience and knowledge of Government institutions and interventions relating to Malaria control in Nigeria. Experience of working with Faith Based Organisations (FBO) and People Living with HIV/AIDS Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and understanding of the links between Malaria and HIV Experience of International Donor funded projects (USAID, DFID, EU etc) Willingness to travel at short notice Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (MEO) Ref: NfL/MEO Main purpose of job: The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the program has the systems and the capacity for carrying out effective monitoring and evaluation. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the program collates the data necessary for CA & ERD reporting requirements and in supporting other partner staff and community to assist in this. To do this the post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation f a framework that enables complex monitoring of both the partners and beneficiaries and impacts of the program to take place.
