Hey everyone - I hope you all had a great summer! I'm really excited about all of the amazing things we have on the horizon this year for the Youth Activist Network and I wanted to share our first piece of awesome news. Advocates for Youth is thrilled to help re-launch the Great American Condom Campaign (GACC)- a youth-led grassroots movement to distribute nearly 1,000,000 free condoms on college and university campuses each year. Students from across the country can apply to be a GACC SafeSite on their campuses. Each successful SafeSite will then receive a box of 500 free Trojan Brand Condoms as well as other campaign materials to fuel GACC advocacy efforts. Apply to be a Fall 2008 SafeSite - join the Great American Condom Campaign today! In previous years, the GACC has received more SafeSite applications than the amount of condoms available for the campaign. As such, priority will be given to applications received from students attending schools at which condom availability is limited. We will also be taking into account the number of applications received from each school and the individual applicant's distribution plan. SafeSite applications for Fall 2008 are currently being accepted on a rolling basis through September 30, 2008. Do it for your country! Apply now to become a GACC SafeSite! The Great American Condom Campaign is also expanding its focus to work with young people who want to organize for improved condom availability on their campuses, fight against the censorship of sex education in America's schools, advocate for the rights of GLBTQ youth, and work on other issues that will help make America a sexually healthy nation. Keep an eye out for the launch of these exciting campaigns! Here at Advocates, we couldn't be more excited about being a part of the Great American Condom Campaign.
